Below Freezing Award Program

One of the many purposes of the Order of the Arrow is to promote scout camping. Whether that be at your local council camp or with your troop. Camping is a vital part of what builds character and instills in us a love of nature. Here in Alaska we don’t get nice weather all the time, in fact majority of our year is covered in snow. So to help recognize honor campers and promote camping as well as offer the scouts of our council a challenger. We produce and maintain the Below Freezing Award Program. The Award recognizes scouts and leaders who camp in below freezing temperatures and offer a -100, -200 and -300 below award to recognize this accomplishment. The form is below with the criteria, your Scoutmaster should fill it out after your campouts following the requirements and turn into the Scout Shop. Then your troop will be able to purchase the awards to recognize the scouts at your next meeting or court of honor.
